Past research on Michigan's school choice policies has focused on characteristics of the newly formed charter schools. We focus instead on the responses of traditional public school districts, and how choice policies have changed relationships among school districts and other actors in the educational This report studies the combined impact of Michigan's two school-choice policies: charter schools, known as "Public School Academies," and interdistrict student transfers.

The report examines geographical patterns of school-choice participation among the state's school districts, and investigates how schools and districts have responded to the challenges and opportunities posed by choice ://?id=ED   Our first point: Michigan school choice policies are here.
